Windy

Millennium Wind

January 17, 2000 – December 17, 2006

Dear Friends,

Sadly, I buried my #1 Greythound today. Windy a.k.a “Millennium Wind” crossed the Rainbow Bridge while at Play Date today.

Windy was my first grey. She was a sweetie, the mischief maker and a happy clown. She always greeted fosters as if they were her long lost pals. I believe she secretly plotted what naughty tricks she could teach them then she would sit back and giggle as they got in trouble. Windy lived life like she ateto the fullest! She would amuse me by picking up another hounds dish and carrying it to her bed. Yep, she ate her meals, snacks and anything else in bed! She was my cuddle bunny when I was sick, my roo-roo dog when I was sad. Windy was always there for me. She would have turned seven next month. I know her first two years were not the greatest however; the remaining time on earth was awesome! In the final moments, she was doing what she loved.running and playing with her buddies! She is buried in my back yard in a special garden spot marked with wind chimes. I know that every time I hear the chimes, Windy is chasing butterflies and welcoming another grey at the Rainbow Bridge.

I would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” to the many wonderful, caring greyhound friends who helped during the time of crisis. Many of you are new to the group and I want to assure you that Play Dates are wonderful opportunities for the hounds (and humans) to stretch their legs, socialize and share in fellowship. Today was a freak accident where two dogs ran too fast and too hard into one another, ultimately causing the death of both of them. I don’t know if there is anything that could have prevented thisI do know that I will be at the next play date and hope you all will do the same.

Warmly,
